Harvest 2015

Well with the hot dry summer we have had I guess its no surprise we started harvest almost a month early. The lack of rain and temps over a 100 basically shocked the wheat into drying out earlier than normal. Normally we start harvest the first week of August, this year we were done by August 1.  This was earliest Garry has ever started harvest. Yields this year are about the same as the past two years but not as good as we had three years ago. We made it through harvest with no major break downs, just the normal small things. In years past we have ran two combines, two trucks, and a bank out wagon. This year we basically ran one combine and the international truck, with the occasional trip with the semi. Luckily we didn’t have any fires thank goodness and everyone is as healthy as they were going into harvest which is always a good thing. Were now ready for the start of Bear season (Aug1)  and getting ready for Archery deer season (Sept1)…
