My new suit

My new suit
I needed to update my suit for a meeting. My last suit purchase was almost 20 years ago. My pockets contained the cards from many funerals from years past.
I checked out several shops and decided to go to the Men’s Warehouse as they promised to make me look good!!!!
The salesman showed me several suits for my size and taste. I selected a charcoal grey suit and of course it made me look 10 years younger and 20 pounds lighter. I did look good!!!!
As I was getting the final fitting I noticed the label said made in Vietnam. This stopped me for a moment as I thought of my many friends who served in that war. They came home with battle scares both physical and psychological. The people I know from that war can and still remember the smell and the color of that country. The smell contained a combination of fear, death, anger, and frustration.
I purchased the suit and then wondered if my sons would purchase a suit made in Iraq or Afghanistan sometime in the future? Would it cause them to pause and remember the cost of the war for our young men and women fighting today? I hope for peace and prosperity in the future for these countries.
Does the suit make the man or does the man make the suit?

I agree with Guy Garry,” It is the man the makes the suit!” When free trade came into being. our United States that we grew up with went out the door. So that is how it is! Enjoy the suit and the places it goes too!
