Craig’s Introduction
Welcome everyone. My name is Craig and I am the owner and guide for YJ Guide Service. On this section of the blog, I am going to be writing about the wildlife and hunting on the farm. Our goal is to keep you informed about the Turkey, Mule Deer, Whitetail Deer and Coyotes that call this farm home. We will be posting pictures taken from a trail camera, as well as the regular camera so you can see the animals up close and personal. We will be offering you the chance to hunt this farm for yourself starting this Spring and we want you to see the quality of animals available.
Now that Deer season is over and Turkey season is about 2 months away we are concentrating our efforts on Coyote hunting. I went out the other day for a little while and was able to call in a nice male Coyote within about 5 minutes. There is nothing more rewarding then being able to go out and call in a big ole Coyote. Stay tuned for another report coming soon….
I got into hunting when I met my nhubasd. I knew if I didn’t I would never see him for several months out of the year. I would go out with him the first couple years we were together and just watch, then I thought, I can do this. I tried for a year and got nothing, my bow was so slow the deer would jump out of the way. Finally I got a new bow and practiced at home and went to 3-D shoots. THat helped a lot and I have gotten a deer every year now archery hunting. I enjoy rifle hunting too, but archery is my passion. I hope to expand my horizons by hunting turkey, bear, and antelope this year. I encourage all women to try an outdoor sport, we need more women in the field of hunting.
My wife never hunted or went fishing till we got together either. I am so blessed to have her in my life. It makes the things we do in the outdoors more fun since I can hunt and fish with my bestfriend. Its good to hear their are other women who are enjoying the outdoor sports with their husbands..
