Wheat Farming1

Garry’s Introduction

Hello. I am a 4th generation wheat farmer in northeast Washington.  I was born and raised in this area. After graduation from High school I attended college and work as an engineer for a couple years.  I returned and this area is and this has been my home for most of my life.  I have a wife and two young boys who are in college at this time.

In the following weeks and months I will share with you the pain and joy of wheat farming.  Some times during the winter not much happens and during the summer we don’t have enough hours to get everything done.  Right now I am working on getting the credits to keep my license to apply chemicals on the farm.  Last week I had to take a class for state Labor and Industries so I can keep hiring the help for the farm.

You will discover that a farmer has to do many things such as keep books, fix machines, drive machines, market grain, and write blogs.  Hang on and we will see where this goes.
